Next year, FCCMA’s Annual Conference is being held
on May 28-31, 2008 in Marco Island, FL. As
conference time approaches, stay tuned for updates
and information on what is in store…you won’t want
to miss a minute!
Several new and/or enhanced sessions were offered
this past year through the Coaching program,
including:
Speed Networking @ the “So You Want to Be A
City/County Manager?” Session
At this annual pre-conference session, students and
city/county employees who are looking forward to
becoming city or county managers in the future have
an opportunity to listen to panel discussions and
engage in small group discussions on a variety of
relevant topics. This day-long session allows
plenty of time for questions and answers, as well as
networking opportunities with the FCCMA Board of
Directors. This past May the program included a
Speed Networking session. This fun event helped
everyone at the SYWTB session get to know each other
a bit better and the networking opportunity it
provided helped everyone prepare for the dynamic
conference that kicked off the following day.
Coaching Sessions -
“Being a Great Coach and a Winning Player”
These
sessions were offered to help volunteer coaches
learn the key elements of effective coaching. This
also provides an opportunity for new and emerging
professionals to role play with experienced managers
on how to develop, build, and maintain a positive
coaching relationship. We learned that you can
benefit from coaching at any stage in your career,
from seasoned executive to mid-level manager to
recently graduated student, everyone can learn and
have a great time in these sessions!
Don’t forget to save the dates….May 28-31, 2008 in
Marco Island!
