Committee Description

This committee will work to:

1. Increase public awareness of local government ethics
2. Educate members to properly incorporate citizen input into public decision making       
3. Demonstrate the value of professional local government management by:

• Developing a communication tool to provide information to the public on initiatives, jobs well done, the council-manager form of government—telling FCCMA and managers’ stories
• Developing a public relations plan
• Researching and possibly employing a part-time PIO to routinely prepare and circulate positive news regarding the profession and to link professional managers with media opportunities
• Developing a “best practices” in local government public relations for members
• Providing media training to members
