The City of Indian Harbour Beach is seeking a creative and public service-driven Communications Manager to lead Citywide communications and community engagement efforts. Reporting directly to the City Manager, this leadership role will develop unified messaging, manage media relations, oversee digital and print communications, and support public outreach initiatives for a vibrant coastal community of approximately 9,000 residents along Florida’s Space Coast.
Key priorities include launching a public weekly newsletter, expanding resident email communications, strengthening social media engagement, and developing a comprehensive communications strategy.
Requirements:
Minimum
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public affairs, or a related field
• 2 years of progressively responsible communications experience
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License, have an acceptable driving record, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Membership in or the ability to obtain membership in the Florida Public Relations Association or the Florida Municipal Communicators Association
Preferred
• Master’s degree in a related field
• Five years of public sector communications experience
• Professional accreditation
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
