JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Planner position is a highly responsible professional position performing technical work required in Community Development Department. Work involves technical and creative responsibility conducting research and preparing detailed studies on land use, zoning, conservation, housing, transportation, population, historic preservation, urban design, and other areas of comprehensive planning activities. Work also includes review of site plan applications and involvement with other development review processes. This position works directly under the supervision of the Community Development Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Public Administration, Planning or related field. Three years’ experience in Planning, Zoning, or Public Administration. Preference given to those individuals with a Master’s degree in Urban Planning. Willingness and ability to achieve AICP, and other planning certifications.
