As an Associate Accountant in the Financial Services Department, you’ll work closely with a team of other accountants and financial system professionals to contribute to the City’s financial operations. This position will primarily be responsible for accounts receivable accounting functions, and various other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for basic governmental fund accounting duties in compliance with GAAP and GASB standards.
  • Assist in the review and processing of customer invoices.
  • Apply payments to customer accounts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Monitor aging reports and follow-up on outstanding balances.
  • Communicate with internal teams and clients regarding billings and payment inquiries
  • Support month-end closing activities and reporting
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and audits.
  • Maintain and support the City’s accounting systems, modules, and related programs.

  • Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and governmental reporting standards.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software

Minimum Training & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field

or

Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field, and two years of relevant work experience.

Salary Range
$17.9790 to $48.7873/hourly. Hiring rate generally will not exceed $28.6255/hour

Driver’s License Requirements
For designated positions, must possess a valid Class E State driver’s license at the time of appointment.
