As we begin a new year, I want to thank you for your continued commitment to FCCMA and to the profession of local government management. I hope the year ahead brings renewed energy, meaningful connections, and continued success for you and your communities.
We are pleased to welcome George Brown as FCCMA’s new Senior Advisor. We are grateful for his service and leadership, and we look forward to the experience and guidance he will bring in support of our members. Please join me in giving George a warm welcome.
Elections remain open for even-numbered districts. Eligible members should have received an email from their District Election Committees with instructions for submitting a self-nomination. The deadline to submit your district application is today, Friday, January 30th.
Elections for Vice President and two At-Large Director positions also close today. For more information, please click here.
This is also a final reminder that dues payments and annual ethics training reporting are due by February 1. Ethics training resources are available on both the FCCMA and ICMA websites. Members who do not meet these requirements by the deadline will be removed from the database.
Voting is now open for the FCCMA Annual Photo Contest. If you submitted a photo, please encourage your community to vote here and help showcase what makes your city or county special. Voting opened on January 26 and will close on February 9. Be sure to share the voting link through your social media platforms, websites, and community information boards.
Please mark your calendars for our next free coaching webinar, “From Planning to Progress: How Cities Build Buy-In and Deliver Long-Term Strategic Success,” on February 5 at 2:00 p.m. This session will explore how cities can build staff and community trust and turn strategic plans into measurable, lasting results. I look forward to seeing many of you at the Winter Institute, taking place February 26-27 at the Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach. This year’s theme, “Finding Opportunity in Uncertain Times,” promises timely and engaging discussions. Please note that the room block discount ends January 30, and registration closes February 2. Space is limited, so I encourage you to register soon.
Thank you for all you do to support FCCMA and the communities you serve. I look forward to working together in the year ahead.
Sincerely,
Sarah
