One of the best parts of this profession is that we never stop learning.
Every conversation, conference, webinar, and committee meeting gives us the chance to gain new ideas and bring them back to the communities we serve. That’s one of the reasons FCCMA is such a valuable resource for all of us.
Our FCCMA committees are already hard at work planning next year’s professional development opportunities. I’m grateful to our committee members who volunteer their time and talents to keep our association moving forward.
I hope you’ll join us on August 6 for our free coaching webinar, The Governance Edge: Strategic Insights for Municipal Charter Revisions. It’s another great opportunity to learn, connect, and earn ICMA-CM reporting credits.
I’m also excited to see the return of the FCCMA Short-Form Video Showcase. This year’s theme, Innovation in Action, is your chance to highlight a program, project, or technology that is making a difference in your community. Every community has an innovation worth sharing, and I encourage you to share yours. Please email FCCMA staff at [email protected] to confirm your participation by Monday, August 31.
This fall, many of us will gather at the 2026 ICMA Annual Conference in Long Beach, California, from October 17-21. It looks like attendance will rival last year’s conference in Tampa. If you’re planning to attend, I hope you’ll join us at the FCCMA reception at Parkers’ Lighthouse | Queensview Steakhouse on Monday, October 19. It’s always a great opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and make new connections. Watch for registration details coming soon.
I hope you’ll take advantage of these opportunities to connect, learn, and share with your fellow members in the months ahead.
We’re ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.
Terry
