SALARY: $52,769.60 Annually
Bachelor’s degree in personnel administration/human resources management, business administration, public administration or related field; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience. Applicants within six months of meeting the education/experience requirement may be considered for trainee status.
Successful completion of all applicable background checks pre-hire and ongoing are required.
Position Summary:
This is entry-level professional work assisting in the administration of Equal Opportunity Programs in the Equal Opportunity Office.
An employee assigned to this classification is responsible for conducting workshops on and doing research on Equal Opportunity Laws, disseminating information to the public, investigating complaints of discrimination/harassment, and providing assistance in implementing the County’s Equal Opportunity Program.
Work is performed under the general direction of a higher-level supervisor and reviewed through conferences, reports and observation of results obtained.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This is an emergency essential classification. Upon declaration of a disaster and/or emergency, all employees in this classification are required to work.
Exudes a positive customer service focus.
Advocates building organizational culture through aligning decisions with the County’s core values.
Responsible for initial intake of complaints of discrimination.
Advises the general public and County employees of program policies and procedures.
Assists in responding to complaints regarding employment, housing and public accommodation issues.
Provides equal opportunity counseling.
Plans, coordinates and presents various workshops for Equal Opportunity program areas.
Responds to internal and external requests for assistance.
Serves as liaison with federal, state, county, and local agencies on public education and outreach events related to Equal Opportunity program areas.
Attends various Advisory Committee meetings.
Performs the duties listed, as well as those assigned, with professionalism and a sense of urgency.
