As we move further into the spring season, FCCMA continues to provide opportunities for connection, learning, and professional growth.
On March 27, the FCCMA Nominating Committee convened to interview candidates for the 2026-2027 Board of Directors. The Committee is recommending the City Manager of Jacksonville Beach, Mike Staffopoulos, as President-Elect. Mike currently serves on the Board as Vice President. Pinellas County Assistant County Administrator Matt Spoor has been recommended as Vice President, and Dunedin City Manager Jennifer Bramley and Lake Park Town Manager Richard Reade have been recommended for the open At-Large Director positions. The Slate of Officers for the 2026-2027 program year will be presented to the membership at the Annual Business Meeting on Friday, May 29, during the Annual Conference.
Please mark your calendars for our next free coaching webinar, Succession Planning, on May 7. This session will highlight the importance of succession planning in ensuring organizational stability, leadership continuity, and readiness for future transitions. Register here.
The FCCMA Annual Conference is just around the corner and will be held May 27-30 at the Hilton Orlando. Be sure to register by May 8, 2026, to receive the early bird rate. Our Conference Committee has developed an engaging program, including the pre-conference workshop, “So You’re Going to Be a City/County Manager,” and the return of the popular speed networking session. We also look forward to the Friday Night Social at Pirates Dinner Adventure, a fun, family-friendly event with transportation provided. Please note that all attendees must be registered for the conference. View the conference agenda here.
Resume reviews will be available by appointment on Thursday and Friday of the conference. This complimentary service requires advance registration. Register here.
We also encourage you to join us for the Inspirational Breakfast, “Call to Service,” on Friday, featuring Ken Parker, ICMA/FCCMA Senior Advisor Coordinator. If you have already registered for the conference and would like to attend, please email Melanie Howe.
Our staff is currently updating the new FCCMA directory and will be sending verification forms in May. If you do not receive your form, please contact FCCMA staff at [email protected].
I look forward to seeing many of you in Orlando later this month. Thank you for your continued dedication to FCCMA and to the profession.
Sincerely,
Sarah
